COMING IN APRIL 2012!

The Phlebotomy Technician program is designed for individuals who are interested in learning the art of venipuncture (drawing blood samples) according to healthcare standards. Students are required to successfully complete an off-site clinical externship in a healthcare facility following theory and skill practice. Successful completer’s qualify to sit for the Phlebotomy Technician Certification offered through the National Center for Competency Testing.

· Cost: $895 ($100 non-refundable deposit) - Includes textbooks, drug screening, Provider Level CPR, First Aid, Lab fees, Workkeys, and Certification costs.

· Length of class: 174 hours including clinical externship

· Class dates: April 16-August 9, 2012 (subject to change)

· NEW! Class times: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:00pm to 6:30pm

Course Requirements (required at an additional expense)

· High School Diploma or GED – Official Transcript

· FBI and BCI Background Check

· Proof of Current Immunizations

· Physical Examination

· Dark Green Scrubs

· White Shoes

Contact the Career Center for program information and application. Prospective students should complete and return the application to KCCC Adult Education with a $100 non-refundable deposit. The balance of fees is due the first day of class.
