U.S. Department of Labor/Employment and Training Administration has awarded the "Bright Outlook" designation to welders, cutters, and welder fitters. One in five jobs in Ohio is in manufacturing -- and rebounding!
This full-time career training program will prepare adult learners for careers requiring welding certification through theory and hands-on training.

The 685-hour certified welder program is a performance-based program with no prerequisite courses or certifications required. Work with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, bronze, nickel, and other metals and alloys as you learn to consult blueprints to plan, lay out, cut shape, weld, and finish various projects, including preparing estimates. Become familiar and practiced with professional tools and equipment, as well as principles and techniques you will use on the job. Conclude with the opportunity to earn American Welding Society D.1.1. structural steel certification.

Return application with $50 nonrefundable testing/processing fee to the Adult Education Building at the Knox County Career Center, 308 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. Click here to complete our online application.

Provide documentation of high school diploma or GED.

Schedule a Skills Review session with the Assessment Center by calling KCCC Adult Education Office 740.393.2933.
